Latest iPhone 5 rumor

With the Samsung Galaxy S III out, it's inevitable that people will talk about the next iPhone, Samsung's biggest competitor in smart phones. And here is the most recent rumor out right now.

According to the rumor, the next generation iPhone, code named "iPhone 5" will have a 4 inch display screen and it's quite a surprise because Apple has never gone bigger than 3.5 inch with their phone. I guess Apple couldn't resist all the bigger smart phones coming out. It was originally reported by Reuters that the next generation iPhone will have a 4.6 inch display but Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White stated that it will be 4 inch. The same assumption was made by iMore editor-in-chief Rene Ritchie, who predicted the iPhone 4S while everyone else believed the iPhone 5 was coming at the time.

Also, as you can see in the picture, the design of the iPhone 5 looks different front and back. In addition to the hardware changes, we are hoping to see a few other potential features added to the iPhone 5: 3D camera, 3D GUI, OLED Screen, LTE, iWallet, and A6 Processor. In my personal opinion, I think we'll be seeing only a few of these features in the next iPhone.

Apple recently invented a 3D camera for iOS devices which can take photos and videos. 3D is not the latest technology but I'm sure Apple will find a way to make it pop out from all the other 3D camera technology out there. On January 12, 2012 the 3D GUI was released for iOS devices. What the 3D GUI does it will detect gestures and hand movements. I personally think, even though technology is constantly improving, all these 3D features are a little too much for just a cellphone. Maybe for tablets, it'd be something people would want.

If Apple does switch over to OLED from LCD, it would be pretty amazing with the retina display. Samsung recently publicly announced that they aim to switch over to OLED from LCD so as a rival it sure is the right thing to do. Apple has been buying a lot of materials from Samsung last year which includes LCD panels. It has been reported that Apple will be buying even more materials and just from speculation, Apple will be buying more expensive display materials.

I think we're going to see LTE on the iPhone 5 because the New iPad already has it, meaning they have the technology for it. However, there is still a possibility of Apple not supporting LTE on the iPhone 5 because it will make the phone slightly thicker, which is why the iPhone 4S didn't get LTE.

iWallet is a technology that lets a user control all their banking accounts easily. It allows the user to see the credit card profiles, statements, and messages from the bank. I think this feature might be a little skeptical because it's going to need a really tight security or else there will be a lot of people losing a lot of money.

The latest iPhone currently runs a A5X Chip which was a mistake because it wasn't powerful enough to handle the retina display and apps like Siri. I'm almost positive Apple will work very hard to put improve their processor since the quad core processor seems to be trending in smart phones these days.

I know Apple always leaks out thousands of rumors and the product itself is quite different but I know some people are like me and they just want to see something they can wait for. I can't wait to see the next iPhone.
